Janie Polina, daughter of Daniel Martinez and Olivia Cantu, was born on May 9, 1954 in Pearsall, Texas and departed from this life on August 29, 2018 at her home in Westville, Oklahoma at 64 years of age.
She loved her family and taking care of them was her main priority. Janie worked as a home health provider to help support her family.
She was a wonderful cook. Her specialty was tortillas. No one ever left her house hungry. Janie enjoyed gardening, yard sales, flea markets and hiking.
Janie was a member of the Adventist Church in Stilwell since 1990. She served as a treasurer, secretary, helped clean and served the church for over 27 years.
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 was Janie’s favorite scripture.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers: Pedro Martinez and Jesus Martinez.
Janie is survived by a loving and devoted family that includes her husband: Eli Polina of the home in Westville, Oklahoma, children: Vickie Polina of Tempe, AZ, Rachel Polina and husband Matt Johnson of Gentry, AR, Cynthia Sparlin and husband Jim of Siloam Springs, AR, Theresa Pair and husband Jentre of Gentry, Eli Polina, Jr. and wife Monica of Westville, Eddie Polina and wife Jana, Matthew Polina and wife Andrea of Gentry, Marcus Polina and wife Lilly of Siloam Springs, 19 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, siblings: Juan Martinez of Muscatine, IA, Jose Martinez and wife Cristela of Appleton, WI, Trine Martinez and wife Anna of Muscatine, IA, Daniel Martinez and wife Petra of Richmond, TX, Ruben Martinez and wife Tammy of Westville, Yolanda Conteras and husband Jesus of Pharr, TX, Mario Martinez of Mission, TX, Hector Hinojosa of Houston, TX.
She is also survived by many other relatives and friends.
